Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our premium Japanese steel blades.
What makes Santoku knives different from traditional Western knives?
Santoku knives feature a flatter cutting edge and a 'sheep's foot' tip, designed for precise slicing, dicing, and mincing. Unlike Western knives, they are typically lighter, thinner, and hardened to a higher Rockwell scale for superior edge retention.
How should I care for and sharpen my high-carbon steel knives?
To maintain your knives, hand wash them immediately after use and dry them thoroughly to prevent oxidation. For sharpening, we recommend using a whetstone rather than a honing rod to preserve the specific 15-degree blade angle.
How long does shipping take for international orders?
Standard international shipping typically takes 7-14 business days. All orders are processed within 48 hours and include a tracking number so you can monitor your blade's journey from our forge to your kitchen.
What is your return policy if I am not satisfied?
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If your knife doesn't feel perfect in your hand, you can return it in its original packaging for a full refund or exchange, provided it has not been damaged through misuse.
Are your knives dishwasher safe?
No, we strongly advise against putting professional-grade knives in the dishwasher. The high heat, harsh detergents, and movement can dull the blade, damage the wooden handles, and cause chipping.
Do you offer a warranty on your cutlery?
Yes, every Santoku knife comes with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. This covers any issues with the blade steel or handle construction under normal residential use.
